Welcome to Home & Haven — I’m so glad you’re here.
My name is Jennifer, and I’m a mom of seven — with five with me on earth and two in heaven. My husband and I are both pediatric speech-language pathologists, and for years we served in the public schools. Honestly, I had never imagined I would be homeschooling my children.
But in 2022, everything changed.
Our third child, Corbin, died at 5 days old due to complications from congenital CMV. His life forever reshaped the way we view our home, our children, and the calling God has placed on our family. We had always been Bible-believing Christians, but the Lord used this to change the lens through which we saw everything.
Suddenly, what once felt ordinary became holy. What once seemed small felt eternal.
In that season, I left my public school job and began preparing to homeschool — not out of fear or pressure, but out of the deep conviction that every moment matters.
Each conversation, each messy day, each loud morning at the table…
Jesus could redeem it all. He could use it to make me more like Him.
He could turn the rhythms of home into sacred ground.
My desire to lead Home & Haven is born from that place — a desire to treasure the fleeting moments with our children, to anchor our homes in Scripture, and to serve families whose children have different learning needs. As pediatric SLPs, my husband and I carry a special heart for children with unique learning needs, and we pray this community reflects that compassion and understanding.
Our hope is simple:

To walk alongside you as we learn, teach, grow, and surrender together.

Here at Home and Haven we want to be a gathering place for homeschooling mamas to come and be refreshed. To find community, encouragement and a sweet reminder that these days spent with our children are not in vain.
